Two new pieces have emerged, both with bold, cheeky, suspicious characters. What do you think is going on?

In your extra covid time, have you perhaps had a look at your family tree or history? I have been utterly fascinated by new family research findings and am about to take a DNA test, BUT that’s not at all what I planned to paint about.

I was having “big tree” feels after a camping trip in the Redwoods in August. I envisioned drawing on those new adventures with the fresh, large canvas. The more I painted this stylized tree, more symbols of family history, roots, journeys, cultural elements, began to show up. I woke from sleep, with a vision of a nesting bird and the words, “Who’s in YOUR family tree” and indulged the small owl who needed to be included.

I’m pleased with the print too. It’s cute and colorful. This original painting is currently available (at the time of this post) and going to hang out at a new show in the Stambaugh Family Dental office in Springfield, beginning tomorrow. Any pieces from this show will be available for immediate delivery.
